About Bob Wolfman


Bob grew up in New York City and began studying guitar at the age of 11, started performing at age thirteen, and by the time he reached high school was doing studio work as a session player in Manhattan.   Bob has performed with such greats as Chick Corea, Larry Coryell and Grover Washington.  Having toured many countries on three continents as a performing and recording guitarist, Bob has a truly eclectic background, with a deep appreciation and understanding of contemporary music and styles.

He graduated in 1980 from the highly acclaimed Berklee College of Music in Boston with a Performance Degree and more than two years as a Music Ed. major.  He performs with his band for enthusiastic audiences with sold-out appearances at notable music venues throughout New England and the East Coast.  With his more than 27 years of teaching experience, Bob Wolfman brings much more to his private teaching as well as his online music courses than one might ordinarily expect to find.

Hot on the heels of his new CD ~ “TRANSITION”, Bob Wolfman is taking the music scene by storm and rapidly receiving rave reviews from critics and fans alike.  Bob is currently performing with his band featuring Kenwood Dennard on drumsJames Cammack on Bass and Ferdi Argenti on keys, and often features jazz giant Larry Coryell on guitar.  A mentor and lifelong friend to Wolfman, Coryell produced “TRANSITION” and plays on all tracks for his protégé’s new album.

Bob Wolfman in the studio with his lifelong hero EDDIE KRAMER, unquestionably, one of the most renowned and well-respected producers/engineers in all of rock history.  The amount of legendary rock artists he has worked with over his long and illustrious career is staggering — the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, and Kiss.  He worked on live recordings by Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, Kiss, John Mayall, the Rolling Stones, Peter Frampton, Joe Cocker, Curtis Mayfield, Santana, David Bowie, and Derek & the Dominoes.  Add to it several of Led Zeppelin’s most enduring albums (Led Zeppelin II, Houses of the Holy, Physical Graffiti. Bob was hired for this session as a consultant and session guitarist for a high end piece of signal processing gear.

A graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music, Bob earned a Performance Degree and thus rounded out his many years on the road touring and recording with a formal education in music.  A widely known and highly respected educator, Bob founded the famed Wolfman’s School of Music in Boston, which served as a prep school for Berklee College of Music as well as other college music programs.  Bob is also a prolific composer, producer, and bandleader.

Bob Wolfman is a legendary guitarist/vocalist in the Boston and New England area.  He has gained recognition as one of the leading guitarist/vocalists on the East Coast since the nineteen nineties as a leader of his Bob Wolfman Band.  An extremely versatile musician, Wolfman is well versed in Blues, Rock and Jazz.  He has performed, recorded and/or toured with such greats as keyboard genius - Chick Corea, the “Godfather “of Jazz/Rock Fusion - Larry Coryell, New York studio session icon/producer - Joe Beck, legendary bassist for Weather Report/Joe Zawinul – Victor Bailey, one of the world’s top drummers - Kenwood Dennard, Bassist for Ahmad Jamal – James Cammack, sax giant for Van Morrison – John Payne, Blues vocalist Toni Lynn Washington, Blues/Jazz harmonica icon - Mike “Turk” Richards, Bluesman - James Montgomery, and many more.  Bob Wolfman began doing studio work in Manahattan at the age of 16, he has played on several hundred recordings as a “hired gun” session guitarist, and he has performed in many countries on three continents in every type of venue, ranging from coffee houses, nightclubs, colleges and theaters to large concert halls and stadiums.
